Skin Care for Dry Skin

So...winter got your skin feeling a little...perch? thirsty? dry? cracking?? Don't worry you're not the only one suffering from perched skin. I know this post might be a little late for winter skincare...but if you live in the midwest like me, then you know winter can last a lifetime. It is never too late for winter skincare, especially for dry skin. I"ve been living in the midwest my whole life and every winter, my skin go through the drought stage and it is not fun. Have you ever tried putting on foundation when your skin is super dry?? and you tried to fix it by put on more foundation or moisturizer. You end up looking like you have leather skin, or cracked skin. Not fun at all.  I was never big on skincare--I'm more of a makeup girl--until I turned 30 last year and realized that maybe I should start worrying about my skin. I usually slap on whatever moisturizer I could find during winter and hope that my face doesn't dry out. However, this year, I actively look for skincare products that would help with dry skin. And what do you know...my skin is a lot better than last winter. I haven't break out and my skin is no longer thirsty! It hasn't dry out all winter.

These are some of the skincare products I use right now for dry skin and absolutely love it! I hope these products help with all you ladies (and gents) suffering on the midwest weather, or anywhere in the world where you're suffering from dry skin.

DR. JART+ Ceramidin™ CreamOLEHENRIKSEN Transforming Walnut ScrubORIGINS GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and DepuffTony Moly's Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub

The Cream de la crème: DR. JART+ Ceramidin™ Cream

This is the cream of all cream, the very best-- according to me and all the girls at Sephora who recommended it. When I came back from my Europe trip, I was suffering from dry skin. I started panicking and instead of running to a dermatologist like I should, I ran to the nearest Sephora. They recommended Dr. JART+ Ceramidin Cream. Never heard of the brand, don't know anything about it. But it saved my skin. The Ceramidin cream is actually called HELP ME and I needed help. I wear this alone or before applying primer and makeup. Sometimes I use it as a primer, and it works just fine. I always put this on before embracing the cold winter. It gives my skin a layer of protection from the harsh weather.  It's thick but doesn't make your face greasy. What I love about this cream is that you can use it with makeup/without makeup and it won't make you look like a grease ball after a few hours. It definitely locks in the moisture and keeps your skin moist throughout the day. I don't usually put anything on my face unless it's makeup--yes I know that is probably not good for my skin. However, I started using Dr. JART + Ceramidin Cream when I'm home to keep my skin moist and hydrated throughout the day.

No, I don't want no scrub...unless it's OLEHENRIKSEN Transforming Walnut Scrub

A scrub is a guy who can't get no love from me but this OLEHENRIKSEN Transforming Walnut Scrub gets all my love. Omg this scrub is AMAZING. Another product recommended by the lovely ladies at Sephora (I love you Sephora) and thank you for recommending this scrub. Obviously, I was skeptical at first. I never really care for scrubs until I tried this. Most scrubs can be harsh on my skin and doesn't really do much for my skin. However, the OLEHENRIKSEN Transforming Walnut Scrub was not like any other scrubs I used before. It made my skin a lot smoother after using it. I remember the first time I used it was in the shower and I was thinking to myself OMG this thing is amazing...can I use it all over my body lol??? This is an exfoliating scrub which is supposed to help with dullness and smooth uneven texture. It's an exfoliating scrub so you're not supposed to use it everyday...but I am a rebel, I use it almost everyday as my face wash. Unlike other cleansing facial scrub, it doesn't dry out my skin if I use too much of it. It always leave my skin feeling smooth and silky. It scrubs away the dry and dead skin from the harsh winter, and leaves my skin as baby soft as it can be. I always feel like I have a brand new layer of skin after using this scrub, similar to how you feel after getting a facial. This is definitely my number one face scrub/wash right now. Highly recommend it.

Brighten your days with ORIGINS GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff

Eye cream is not just for winter, you should use it daily but I started using it in the winter so it's part of my winter skin care. I usually have dry skin under my eyes so I started using this as a moisturizer and it helped with the dryness. This cream doesn't really depuff your eyes (sorry to disappoint) but it does give an illusion that your eyes are not as puffy and it does everything else that is described on the jar. It contains coffee beans, ginseng, and a natural brightener which refreshes and brighten your eyes. I love Origins's eye cream because it has a shimmer to it, which I think acts as a reflector to cover your dark circles and brighten your eyes at the same time. I love how it gives my eyes a glowy/dewy look. Sometimes I use it on my eyelids as an eye primer too and it gives my eyes a shimmery and glowy look. Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream is definitely worth the money. It's only $31 bucks, which I think is really inexpensive compare to all the other eye creams out there. Also, you get a lot of products from the small jar. I've been using it everyday and still have a lot left in the jar.

Look at that glow.

Kiss your chapped lips good-bye with Tony Moly's Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub

There is nothing I hate more than chapped and dry lips in the winter. The cold weather can be very cruel to your lips in the winter. Especially when you try to put on lipstick with chapped lips. My lips are extra sensitive so I take extra steps in taking care of them in the winter. Besides wearing lip balm, I exfoliate my lips on a regular with Tony Moly's Kiss Kiss Lip Scub. This scrub rubs away all the dead skin, leaves your lips moist and soft- kissable soft ;). I use this at least once a week or whenever I feel my lips need some extra loving. Best thing about this scrub- it's inexpensive. It is only $10 bucks and it last a while. I got mine from Ulta, but I think they don't sell them anymore. You can purchase it on Amazon or Revolve- link below.

Well, those are my recommendation for winter and dry skin. These products are really great year round. I will definitely continue to use them throughout the seasons. If you use or tried any of this products before, I would love to hear your opinion and see if it works for you too. Comment below!
